One word...

Just read this post by some cool photographers that I follow... They wrote this:
I was reading an excerpt from a book I'm thinking about buying the other day, and in it the author was talking about how each year she picks a different word to symbolize what the year is going to stand for. She threw out words like Growth, Order, Simplicity, Brave. And I liked that a lot.
I like that a lot too. It got me thinking... What would my word be? I think the main recurring and overwhelming theme and word that comes to mind is...

Awe.

You know that full-blown amazement you get when you're in the middle of nowhere and you look up at the sky and you realise that there a million more stars than you knew about. Or when you're at the beach and you see the ocean disappear into the horizon; what amazing wonders exist on the other side?
Or you simply look up at the canopy of a massive old tree. Listen to the that creaking sound of bamboos when they sway with the wind.

Yeah, that kind of awe.

Because of the work that I get to do. The people that I get to meet. The opportunity to watch my nephew grow by leaps and bounds. (Seriously there's something new about him every time I see him!) The opportunity to travel. Just being at home with my parents. Learning more and more about unconditional love. And patience. How things work out like pieces of a puzzle suddenly finding their fit...

That is my word.

Most definitely.

That's a beautiful and powerful word. And that graphic sums it up brilliantly. Good luck :)
